South Asian Media and Cultural Studies Conference 2022
February 10, 2022 - February 11, 2022
“Imagining Futures”
February 10-11, 2022
Online, and at the Center for Global and Multicultural Engagement
Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida
The 8th South Asian Media and Cultural Studies conference will be held on the mornings of February 10-11, 2022. The annual conference will be a virtual/hybrid event (with some in-person events at FSU if possible). This year’s conference has an open theme of “Imagining Futures.” The open theme will allow to create linkages that cross disciplinary, geographic, and cultural boundaries. In considering the region’s collective future in the fields of media and cultural studies, scholars and practitioners must build strategies for action. Our aim is not just to reflect upon some of the pivotal challenges in these fields, but to nurture a commitment to building a collective future. Additionally, we hope that the open theme will allow for more flexibility in the choice of panel and paper topics.
We encourage scholars working in relevant areas to attend and present their work in interactive virtual paper sessions. Preference may be placed on advanced graduate students (currently writing dissertation), faculty members, and/or practitioners that focus their work on the South Asian media and cultural studies. There is no registration cost to present and attend the virtual conference.
